IDX CorporationHealthcare IT Systems

Founded in 1969, IDX Systems Corporation provides information technology solutions to maximize value in the delivery of healthcare, improve the quality of patient service, enhance medical outcomes, and reduce the costs of care. IDX systems serve approximately 150,000 physicians and are installed at over 3,400 customer sites, including more than 850 group practices and approximately 370 integrated delivery networks servicing more than 500 hospitals. IDX was acquired by GE Healthcare in 2006.

the challenge

To successfully implement the first IDX "Carecast" electronic patient record application in the UK at University College London Hospitals (UCLH).

"The successful implementation of Carecast is an exciting moment in the development of our state-of-the-art electronic patient record. It will enable us to work more efficiently and safely, bringing immediate benefits to our patients and staff. It coincides with the opening of the new University College Hospital last week and clearly demonstrates progress towards the Trust's 'world class' ambitions. It also points the way forward in modernising the NHS."
Robert Naylor, UCLH Chief Executive
